I am looking for students who are interested in one of the following topics:
- effects of menstrual cycle on mood and well-being (premenstrual dysphoric disorder and premenstrual syndrome, menopause, hormonal contraception)
- effects of menstrual cycle and hormonal contraception effects on stress resilience and emotional memory
- Why are young women doubting whether they should start or continue hormonal contraception? What are their motivations and which alternatives do they use?
Current semester I am planning the following two studies:
1) Role of hormonal contraception in stress regulation
2) Role of estrogen in emotional memory
Starting date sep 2025
all positions filled
5 Master students and 3 Bachelor students all from Clinical Psychology worked on a project that studies how exposure to nature can affect mood and working memory.
I am involved in a multitude of large cohort studies which have over the years generated huge amounts of data; if you are interested in biomarkers (genetics, brain, hormones) of stress or cognitive aging you are most welcome to contact me
Generally I love advising students who want to set up their own thesis project. So if you have a good idea that is remotely related to my areas of interest please contact me!
